There are many opportunities to get involved in supported internships, apprenticeships and traineeships. Project SEARCH offers young people with special educational needs and disabilities the chance to do a supported internship at Brent Council's Civic Centre or other local employers in Wembley Park.
Over 400 young people now take part every year in 30 schemes supported by west London boroughs, with an average employment achievement rate of over 60 per cent.
Brent's Project SEARCH programmes are co-ordinated by the College of North West London (CNWL). Students must be aged between 16 and 24, have a recognised learning difficulty or disability and hold an education health and care (EHC) plan or learning difficulty assessment (LDA). Applications should be made through the CNWL.
