Applying for jobs can be a difficult process and there are lots of things to consider. When applying for jobs it is important to ensure that you have disclosed your disability on the application form as this will let employers know that they should follow the requirements of the Equality Act. It may also be useful to research whether the company you are applying for is a Disability Confident Employer. These employers have committed to making sure their organisation is dedicated to recruiting, retaining and developing disabled people. Also, informing employers that you have SEND needs and requirements before an interview is really important as this ensures that any extra support you may need is in place before you get there.

New specialised employability service for residents with disabilities
Brent council would like to welcome our new employability service for residents with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
The Employment team has secured funding from UKSPF (GLA) to commission a new employability service aimed to support at least 40 of Brent's economically inactive residents who have a disability.
The service will focus on those with disabilities, especially autism. The programme offers tailored support to enhance engagement, develop employment skills, and explore available job pathways.
The service will be delivered by our partner, BEAM, who has extensive experience delivering services for the community.
You can be referred through an employment support agency in Brent that you are working with so do mention this to them
