Performance

Brent is home to two major national venues, Wembley Arena and Wembley Stadium which offer opportunities to see a wide range of music and performance.

If you are interested in taking part in performances, the organisations below may provide you with an entry point.

The Kiln Theatre offers plenty of ways to get involved – its pioneering creative learning programme sees 21,000 attendances by young people at training sessions and workshops every year. The Kiln Young Company offers opportunities for young people interested in performance.

Brent Youth Theatre at The Yellow offers weekly drama sessions for children aged 7-17.

The Carib Theatre Company has produced shows, documentary films, dramatic shorts and inclusion-based projects. It works with young people via creative workshops and aims to develop the next generation of industry creatives - by expanding horizons, building self-esteem and confidence.

East Lane Theatre Club is the only live amateur theatre in Wembley, it puts on five performances each year of all genres. The members of ELTC own the theatre and proceeds from tickets goes towards its upkeep.

The Madhatters Theatre Club is a friendly local amateur drama group. The club meets on Wednesday evenings at 8pm. It’s always looking for new members who are keen to act, help with publicity, set building, ticket selling and/or front of house. The club concentrates on comedies and works actively with other community groups.

There are also independent drama schools in Brent, such as Theatretrain, which charge for drama, dance and singing classes. They offer weekend and holiday classes.

The National Youth Theatre offers short courses and weekly improvisation, storytelling and music for young people aged 11-14. Those who successfully complete a summer membership course become National Youth Theatre Company members. There is also an online Club membership scheme for all young people (aged 11-25) who would like to gain knowledge about the National Youth Theatre and the creative industries.
