Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond has just launched a new acting short course for aged 18+

Devising Lab

Through our Devising Lab you’ll learn how to create original work from scratch. You’ll develop your performance skills and understanding of theatre-making through writing, improvisation and devising exercises. You’ll approach a variety of practitioners’ techniques, developing your skills both individually and as part of an ensemble.

Devising Lab provides a space for you to be curious, creative and imaginative, discovering the power of collaboration.

Through this five-week course you will:

• Develop your artistic voice as a writer, director and performer by creating work in a variety of styles

• Learn how to let go of your inhibitions and make work quickly

• Explore movement and ensemble work

• Learn how to create character & develop scenes

• Learn how to develop new work from source material

Devising Lab is open to anyone aged 18+. No previous experience is necessary- just a sense of curiosity!

Cost - £105. All Lab members will receive one free ticket to an OT Main House production. There are also bursary places available.

Course Dates - Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm-9.30pm from 24th January until 14th February.
