Stepping Up is a Level 2, 3-month drama and leadership training programme for 19-25 year olds, run by National Youth Theatre in partnership with
 
The JGA group. Participants choose from either an Acting or Leadership pathway and work to gain an OCN London Region.

Stepping Up:

Into acting, drama or supporting others to learn? Stepping Up is a 3-month acting and leadership programme for young people aged 19–25* in London who are unemployed or underemployed, and not in education, and do not have a foundation/degree in performing arts.
Stepping Up is a Level 2, 3-month drama and leadership training programme, run by National Youth Theatre in partnership with UCG (United Colleges Group).

Participants choose from either an Acting or Leadership pathway and work to gain an OCN London Region Level 2 Extended Certificate in Performing Arts. Places are available to both NYT members and non-members.

*Or up to 30 if learning disabled. Priority for places is given to those who do not have a foundation/degree in performing arts, and are not in secure employment.

Playing Up:

Playing Up is a practical ten-month part-time drama training programme, offering young people aged 19 – 25* who are not in Education Employment or Training (NEET) the opportunity to gain a Level 3 qualification in drama. It is a Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in Theatre Arts accredited through OCN London delivered in partnership with The JGA Group.

This course runs from October 2023– July 2024 at NYT’s building on Holloway Road, London. The course builds in intensity starting with 2 days a week from October – April and then moving to 3 days a week until June when the course runs full-time for 5 weeks.

Level 2 Certification in Progression.
Places are available to both NYT members and non-members.
 
To be eligible for Stepping Up you must:
 
🏠 Live in a London Borough
 
💷 Be unemployed or earning below London Living Wage (£13.15 per hour) when you enrol on the course,
 
🎯 Be aged 19-25, or up to 30 if learning disabled. (You must have turned 19 before 31st August 2023)
 
🏫 You must not have a GCSE or higher qualification in performing arts, drama or equivalent
 
🎓 You must not have a qualification at Level 4 or higher in any subject
 
📌 You must have the right to work in the UK OR the right to study in the UK
