National Deaf Children’s Society

We are the National Deaf Children’s Society, the leading charity for deaf children. We’re here for every deaf child who needs us – no matter what their level or type of deafness or how they communicate.

We give expert support on childhood deafness, raise awareness and campaign for deaf children’s rights, so they have the same opportunities as everyone else.

Our annual impact reports showcase what we’ve achieved and the difference we’ve made to deaf children’s lives. Over the last year, we’ve reached over 31,000 deaf children and young people, either with direct information and support, or by supporting their families.

In 2019/20 we focused on overcoming barriers to:

  • language and communication
  • local and national services
  • independence.

You can contact the National Deaf Children’s Society by making a free* video call to a BSL interpreter:

  • using the InterpreterNow app on your smartphone or tablet: in the app, tap on “service” and then “National Deaf Children’s Society”

The Buzz is aimed at deaf children and young people aged 8-18. It is an opportunity for deaf children and young people aged 8-18 to get the information and support they need. Read inspiring stories from other deaf young people, ask questions and get involved.
