Its supported learning courses are designed to prepare students for independence and employment in a number of vocational areas such as hospitality and catering, construction, sport and creative arts.
A wide range of teaching and learning strategies are used to meet individual needs and make the curriculum fully accessible for students of all abilities.
Alongside their chosen subject, students learn English, maths and ICT and have the opportunity to take part in enrichment activities including sport, drama or dance. The focus is on increasing both independence and employability, while also developing self-confidence and essential key skills.
All new and potential students should have an education, health, and care (EHC) plan prior to applying. Once they start their studies, students will be set termly targets aligned with their EHC plan. They will also have individual goals set according to their specific subject, and both sets of targets are regularly reviewed with parents/careers at termly meetings. New students and their parents and/or careers are able to visit the college for a taster session, to help with their transition to a new environment.
