The charity runs projects and activities at its network of branches and provides 6,000 hours of supported one-to-one sports and activity sessions for disabled children and young people in London every year.
KEEN London provides free one-to-one supported sports and activity sessions to develop and improve the social and physical well being of children with additional needs and disabilities. Our core service is for primary age children from 5-11 although we are trialing some pre school and apprentice (16 -25) projects which we hope to roll out in the future.
Our highly sought after weekend sessions are often the only place families feel safe leaving their child outside of school and provide a rare opportunity for young people to come together in a safe environment supported one-to-one by a volunteer (coach). Through our sessions we aim to develop and improve children's social and physical well being, working towards goals that will are set when they join. Our current programme aims to support at least 100 children each year with a wide range of additional needs who require varying levels of support. We are currently operating across two sites with a third planned for later this year.
