Japan Youth Collective
The Japan Society is inviting young people to apply to a FREE 8-month youth programme for 16-19s in the Greater London area for young people, especially those in underfunded areas, to get together to learn about Japan from experts while building skills within a small friendly and safe group.
What is the Japan Youth Collective?
Run by the Japan Society, it's a space for young people to get together and explore their interest in Japan. Collective members will have the opportunity to make friends and develop skills for the future while working alongside experts and professionals in Japan-related fields.
Who is the Japan Youth Collective for?
• 16-19 year olds in London or the Greater London area
• Those interested in Japan and keen to learn more while developing personal and professional skills
• Those with limited opportunities to learn about Japan through other avenues
We’re looking for members with a range of backgrounds, experiences, and interests to join us, especially those who are under-represented in this field.

The Japan Youth Collective is back with a new 2025-2026 programme and is now accepting applications. We are inviting young people aged16-19s to apply to this unique Japan-focused youth programme.
Students with a passion for Japan or an interest in Japanese culture can now apply to The Japan Youth Collective—a free 8-month programme that allows participants to explore Japanese culture, develop skills, and connect with experts and like-minded peers while discovering about Japan and its culture.
This FREE unique Japan-focused youth programme offers 16-19-year-olds the chance to meet new people who share their same interests, deepen their knowledge of Japan, develop valuable skills, and collaborate with experts and professionals–all while being a part of a small, supportive group.
We're looking for members who:
✔ Are 16-19 years old and live in London or near the Greater London area
✔ Have a passion for Japan and a strong curiosity to explore more
✔ Have limited opportunities to learn about Japan on their own
