Are you looking for a non-judgmental space to talk to a LGBT+ adult about your identity?
elop is an east London based mental health & wellbeing charity providing a wide range of support services to LGBTQ+ people across London and southwest Essex.
elop’s Youth Mentoring Service provides individual one-to-one sessions to support young LGBTQ+ people ages 12-24 with issues and concerns relevant to their lived experiences.
This could include a space and opportunity to:
- explore their LGBTQ+ identities - develop strategies to build and sustain confidence and self-acceptance - develop coping mechanisms for future coming out, or dealing with anti-LGBTQ+ hate - gain increased knowledge and information on sexual orientation and gender identities and / or LGBTQ+ rights.
Our LGBTQ+ youth mentoring is not therapy or a clinical intervention and should not be used as an alternative should either be needed. Our mentoring service is free and can be held via phone or online until we fully return to a physical face-to-face service. Sessions are usually weekly, for minimum 8 weeks and last for up to one hour per session.
We are also continuing to run our youth groups every Tuesday evening from 4:30–6:30 pm for 12-15 year olds and 7-9 pm for 15-18s. Groups are held at a youth centre in Walthamstow and more details will follow signing up. Both groups are a safe and inclusive space for youth to make friends, enjoy activities and talk all things LGBT+.
Please signpost this summer programme to young people where appropriate, attached are the posters for the programme

elop also provides youth groups for LGBTQ+ young people between the ages of 12-15, 15-18 and 18-25 years old.
