Become an I have a voice youth ambassador!

Have you always been passionate about politics? Are you curious to find out more about how our political system works? Do you want to make real change?

I Have A Voice is committed to putting young people at the heart of politics. Through our Youth Ambassador programme, we aim to equip you with a range of skills that are essential to a successful political campaign, whilst ensuring you are confident in articulating your own opinions. To achieve this, we organise regular talks and workshops from public affairs professionals and civil servants from anything on writing press releases, letters to your local MP and even careers advice for those wanting to pursue a career in politics.

Our Youth Ambassadors have been able to represent IHAV at a variety of events nationally and internationally, meeting MPs and featuring in the news. One of our Youth Ambassadors travelled to Estonia to discuss their campaign on a UN environment panel!

You’ll be joining a flourishing network of over 80 Youth Ambassadors from across the UK. We are keen to see the Youth Ambassador programme expand even more with IHAV employing a team of Youth Ambassadors to ensure the programme is for young people ran by young people.

Our message is simple: to engage, educate and empower young people. So, what are you waiting for? Be the change you want to see and join the Youth Ambassador programme today!

We are looking for new Ambassadors, aged between 16 and 23, to join one of four existing campaigns.

The fours campaigns are:
1. Anti-fast-fashion
2. Championing disability rights
3. Political education for all
4. Eradicating discrimination in our classrooms and curriculum

We work as a team to decide on our campaigning priorities on a monthly basis and are often joined on our monthly calls by a relevant expert e.g. press manager, civil servant, political influencer, social media influencer. Our aim is to give you the necessary tools to engage in the UK's democratic processes and play your role as an active citizen. Our Ambassadors are based up and down the country and so we operate largely online.

Quotes from young people

"I decided to become an I have a voice ambassador as the idea of speaking out on environmental issues that I care about really appealed to me yet I never knew where to start. Being an ambassador has enabled me to start a campaign with a group of like-minded students against the social and environmental impacts of fact fashion and equipped me with skills that are sure to benefit me in my future career!"

"I chose to work with I have a voice because I realised how important it is to get involved and to have a say in how the world works. My favourite part of campaigning is that you can take it in any direction; you can be as creative as you wish. I have enjoyed being a part of I have a voice, as it is really empowering and you have the opportunity to have a positive impact on society."

"I became an ambassador with a voice as I wanted to get my voice heard! Being a teenager, our voices are often neglected and we are constantly not given the opportunity to get a say. I have a voice creates an atmosphere that is inclusive and allows our voices to be amplified! It has also laid the foundation into a career that I want to soon pursue."

"I have always loved politics and wanted to gain an understanding of working in the politics world, so I joined the work experience programme on social policy with I have a voice. I am most passionate about equality and human rights, which is why we set up the campaign Justice 4 You, to make racism and immigration compulsory on the National Curriculum, for a more representative education. I would really recommend becoming an Ambassador, as the experience and opportunities are amazing!"
