Global Skills Centre

Global Skills Centre's (GSC) objectives are to encourage social inclusion and promote active citizenship by giving the most socially excluded people in real danger of becoming both economically and socially excluded from mainstream society access to the knowledge and skills that will stimulate an interest in lifelong learning and thereby instil in them:

  • the confidence to excel in life;
  • the ability to acquire higher level skills required in the global marketplace;
  • the educational tools to maximise their chances of getting into employment and/or further education.

Classes are tutor led. GSC learning and skills vision is simply to ensure that lifelong learning and up-skilling in employment is a defining characteristic of individuals in our local communities. GSC is a vital resource for the community to build their skills gain support and improve their confidence. Our activities and delivery approach are designed to include a range of learning techniques (visual physical aural verbal logical social solitary) ensuring people of varying abilities can participate and engage in our learning programmes.

Our Key activities are: STEM PROGRAMME, Bite-size STEM Programme (robotics coding mobile phone apps design and software programming) IT, ICT, and computer skills to aged 8-16 during school breaks;

SUPPLEMENTARY: Provision of supplementary and after-school learning activities in Maths English (KS2, KS3 & KS4) during term-time;
